Below are some common questions some of our clients have asked in the past. If you have other questions, please Contact Us today
Typically, we breakdown our commissioned hand paintings in a 4 step process. The entire process takes approximately 4-6 weeks for paintings with one person in the painting and approximately 5-8 weeks for paintings with two people in the painting. The dimensions of the canvas, the complexity of the background, and the total number of people in the painting can all extend the overall timeframe of the commissioned hand painted canvases.
Please note, due to demand we are limiting our commissioned hand paintings to 1-2 new orders per quarter (3 month time period) at this time to ensure we can provide the level of fine art that we can be proud of.
Step One- takes up to 1 week to finalize the desired layout and design that we use to base the painting on. This process may also include photo editing by our team to finalize the image we'll be basing the painting on.
Please note, this step can take longer than 1 week if we need multiple revisions or editing to the image you provide us. If it takes more than 1 week, we'll add a $100 service charge for every additional 5 days this step takes.
Step Two- takes up to 1-2 weeks to create your gallery wrapped wood frame by hand and hand stretch your canvas around the frame.
Please note, this process is done by hand and therefore could take longer than expected based on various factors. If this occurs, you'll be contacted with an estimated update time frame.
Step Three- takes approximately 3-5 days to paint each person's face in the painting and 2-4 days to paint each person's article of clothing in the painting.
Please note, if you have a detailed background we'll contact you to let you know the additional time and cost to complete the background.
Step Four- since we use oil paint for commissioned gallery wrap canvases, it takes approximately 1 week to dry enough to ship once the painting is finished.
When shipping within the United States we use the USPS Priority Mail® Options which normally is expected to be delivered within 7-14 business days.
When shipping internationally we use the USPS Global Express Guaranteed®(GXG) or Express Mail® International Options which normally is expected to be delivered within 7-10 business days.
Gallery wrapped stretched up to 1.5″ frames that come ready to be hung on the wall. All of our gallery wrapped canvases are stretched and stapled onto real wood frames to ensure durability, museum quality artwork, and longevity.
"Gallery wrap is a method of stretching an artist’s canvas so that the canvas wraps around the sides (Stretcher Bar or strainer bars) and is secured to the back of the wooden frame. The frame is usually 1.25″ thick. As a result, the hardware (staples or tacks) used to secure the canvas is not visible. The sides of the canvas are prepared and primed in the same manner as the face. They may then be painted a solid color or painted to continue the image appearing on the face. This method of stretching and preparing a canvas allows for a frameless presentation of the finished painting or photograph." –Wikipedia
All hand paintings must be sent with a frame to allow for proper shipping. Rolling oil paintings, acrylic paintings, watercolor paintings, and/or pastel paintings could damage the integretity of the artwork.
